Hungarian Perkelt (Paprika Chicken)
Ingredients
- 1kg chicken thigh fillet
- 2 big onions
- 1 green capsicum
- ground hungarian paprika (not spicy)
- half a small cup of full cream (47%)
Preparation
- thaw chicken to room temperature (can be cold but not frozen)
- cut chicken into small pieces
- cut onions into tiny pieces
- (optional) cut capsicum into long pieces
- (optional) cut tomato into small pieces
Procedure
- put small amount of olive oil into big pot
- heat to 1300power / medium heat
- add all onions
- stir for 2 minutes
- add all chicken
- stir for 2 minutes
- add 3 tablespoons of hungarian paprika
- (optional) add capsicum
- add boiling water to cover all +2cm (roughly 4cups)
- add 2 chicken stock cubes
- partially cover with lid
- let it boil for 1h:30 at power 800 (medium)
- once cooked, add roughly ~300ml of thickened cream
- stir for 2 minutes
